2020 christmas basket appeal

We are looking to recruit over 1,500 volunteers to join our brigade this year! This will allow us to support THREE TIMES as many families as last year, and we can only do it with your help.

Take part in this year’s Glasgow Basket Brigade at home and join the #GlasgowHumanChainOfKindness movement.

2020 has undoubtedly been a tough year and we know everyone is in need of a little bit of joy and love this Christmas. That’s exactly why we wanted to give you a creative project you can enjoy with your friends and family this Christmas, to capture some of that festive spirit we all desperately need. And even better, by taking part in the Glasgow Basket Brigade you’re not only brightening up your own winter, but you’re bringing a little bit of magic to someone else’s home at a time when it’s so very needed.

This year, we’ve consulted with some great community partners who have told us what items are most in demand. And so we’re delighted that you can now choose between 5 different types of baskets to gift to another family.

While we can’t physically prepare our gift baskets together like we did last year, we can still capture that wonderful festive spirit at home. We recommend getting the Christmas tunes on, grab a mince pie (or two!) and enjoy the buzz that comes from knowing you’re doing a wonderful thing for another family. We would love to see your selfies and photographs of you getting your baskets ready - so get sharing with the tag #GlasgowHumanChainOfKindness.

Finally, thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your support and your time to do something amazing for someone else, it means the world to us. Please share this campaign far and wide with family, friends and colleagues and invite them to join our #GlasgowHumanChainOfKindness

“One small act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of hundreds. It takes only one light to dispel the darkness, and even just one basket can bring hope to a family.”
