2022 christmas basket appeal

Welcome Friends,

Thank you so much for signing up to be a part of Glasgow Basket Brigade 2022 and joining our #glasgowhumanchainofkindness Christmas gift basket appeal.

It seems like only yesterday that we were hanging up our Santa hats after an incredibly successful Glasgow Basket Brigade 2021.

From our very first campaign in 2019, every year we have been blown away by your support. We have had to evolve and develop our plans due to the many challenges faced over the past few years and we have been so grateful to all of you who have continued to support us and contribute to the GBB campaign.

Last year yet again we had so many beautiful Christmas gift baskets delivered to people across Glasgow in need of a little extra love. all thanks to you and your incredible generosity.

We get emotional just thinking about the beauty and creativity of last year’s baskets; it was clear that every single one was made with such love and care. Our partners at the drop-off hubs were equally impressed; telling us that they’d never seen such beautiful gifts and that the people who received them were overjoyed and lost for words.

We’ve got big ambitions again for our 2022 appeal. After another tough year, we all desperately need a bit of Christmas spirit! And that’s why we want this year’s appeal to be our best yet. It will work in the same way as last year and we’re hoping to reach even more people. But we can only do this with your support, so your registration to take part means the world to us, and of course to those who receive the gifts.

We want our basket-making to be a special Christmas moment for everyone, igniting the festive spirit in your home as well. So why not invite a couple of friends over to get crafty together. Dust off the Christmas playlist, pour yourselves a glass of mulled wine, and enjoy your first mince pie of the season. And don’t forget to spread the word amongst your friends, family, and colleagues too. Let’s make our human chain of kindness even longer.

Of course, we’re always open to new ideas, suggestions, and offers of support, so please get in touch if you have something to share. And we love to see what you get up to, so do send us your pics and selfies of shopping trips, crafty get-togethers, and of course, the finished products! (You can check out a selection of photos from last year here)

Finally, we want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking part in this year’s appeal.

It means the world.

Much Love,

The Glasgow Basket Brigade Team xx

“One small act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of hundreds. It takes only one light to dispel the darkness, and even just one basket can bring hope to a family.”
