Frequently asked questions for 2019

Is there a timetable for the event, and what are the different tasks on the day?

8.30am: Doors open 9.00am: Registration 9.30am - 12.30pm: Food unpacking and sorting 12.30pm - 2.30pm: Basket packing 2.30pm: Address collection and delivery

Do I need to be there all day?

No. Although it would be helpful if you could stay until all of the baskets are made. However, please stay as little or as long as you like - every helping hand helps.

Do I need a car?

If you have registered as part of the delivery driver volunteer team you will need a car. Ample car-parking is available, and our volunteer team will be in touch to coordinate.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive sharp for the doors opening at 9am. Remember we have over 400 volunteers join us so please come expecting to queue - all the fun kicks off as soon as the doors open so make sure to arrive early so not to miss anything.

What if I can't make it on the day?

Please email us as soon as your plans change and you can no longer join us. This means we can then allocate your place to some of the volunteers on our waiting list. Email for any cancellations.

What will I be doing on the day?

When you arrive you will be met by our registration team who will check you in and allocate you and your family / friends to a team for card writing, brussel sprout sorting, bow making and other fun prep tasks. In the second part of the day everyone will be involved in making up the baskets and helping move these outside for the delivery teams to deliver.

What should I wear?

Come in your festive best and layer up for outdoor and indoor tasks. Our indoor space is heated and you can expect to spend a short amount of time outside. Reindeer horns, Santa hats, Christmas jumpers and sparkle are greatly encouraged.

Come dressed for comfort in clothes and shoes that are easy to move in. Think about how you might dress for moving house.

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring yourself, your festive spirit and remember to bring some pennies for our cloak room, tuk-shop, face painting and raffle taking place on the day.

We will have a tuk-shop selling fresh sandwhiches, crisps, cakes, biscuits, fruit & hot drinks. If you don't want to eat here you're welcome to bring a packed lunch and snacks with you.

Please bring cash. We will not have the ability to take card payments on the day and there are no ATM's on site.

What else should I expect?

We are planning a family fun packing day with Christmas tunes, kids entertainment, face-painting and we have some other surprises in store to keep everyone energised and happy.
